Naked goat in the oven

The very first hot day of June and everyone wanted a closer touch on nature so we decided to go at our summer house. Since we avoid eating cow meat and we wanted something healthier for the kids, goat seemed to us as a very good solution. But how tasty could it be unmarinated cause my kids are not gourmet at all? To my surprise goat meat doesn’t need anything at all if its free range and you know well to use your oven.


  • These timings work for goat meat that weighs approximately 350 gr each and is 3cm thick.

To cook your goat meat

  • Preheat the oven to 180ºC/ 350ºF /gas 4
  • Get the lamb chops out of the fridge so they can come up to room temperature before you start cooking
  • Lay the chops on a baking tray, drizzle with olive oil and season with a pinch each of sea salt, and black pepper… this part you could add your favorite herbs

To cook your goat meat

  • Cook in the hot oven for around 2 hours, turning halfway so they brown evenly, or until cooked to your like.
